Privacy Policy

Cowboys Against Cancer · Effective November 2026

Cowboys Against Cancer is an all-volunteer organization in Sweetwater County, Wyoming. This policy explains what information we collect from the people who support our annual Benefit and Banquet, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this as simple as our organization is.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us when you check in, sign in or bid on our event website, buy a ticket, or talk to a volunteer: your name and mobile phone number, and your email address if you choose to provide it.

  • Event activity created while you take part: your bidder number, bids, purchases, donations and receipts.

  • Payment information. Card details are entered into and processed by our event software, OneCause, and its payment processor. Cowboys Against Cancer does not store full card numbers; our volunteers see only the last four digits.

We do not collect information from children, and our website does not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

  • To run the event: check you in, give you a bidder number, record your bids and purchases, and send receipts.

  • To send event text messages (your bidding link, outbid and winner alerts, payment and pickup reminders) only around the annual Benefit and Banquet. You can stop these at any time (see “Your choices” below).

  • To contact you by phone if a card payment for your purchase is declined.

  • To invite you to next year’s event.

What we keep

OneCause keeps the event’s bidding, purchase and payment records so that receipts and accounting are complete. From year to year, Cowboys Against Cancer itself keeps only your name and phone number.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that make the event work — OneCause, which runs our event website, check-in and texting, and its payment processor — and only for those purposes, or where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.

Your choices

  • Text STOP to any of our messages to stop receiving texts; text HELP for help. Or email contact@cowboysagainstcancer.com with your mobile number and we will stop texting you within 7 days.

  • To see, correct or remove the information we hold about you, contact us using the details below.

Security

Event data is held in OneCause, which uses encryption and access controls; our volunteers access it only through individual logins.

Text Message Terms & Conditions

Cowboys Against Cancer · Effective November 2026

Program name and description

Cowboys Against Cancer Event Updates is a text-messaging program run by Cowboys Against Cancer, an all-volunteer organization in Sweetwater County, Wyoming. Messages are sent through our event software, OneCause, and relate to our annual Benefit and Banquet: check-in confirmations and your personal bidding link, auction notifications such as outbid and winner alerts, and payment, receipt and item-pickup reminders.

How you opt in

You enroll by giving Cowboys Against Cancer your mobile number — at check-in, when you sign in or bid on our event website, or when you give it to one of our volunteers — and agreeing to receive text messages. Consent is not a condition of buying anything or attending our events.

Message frequency

You may receive recurring messages. Message frequency varies. We text only around the annual Benefit and Banquet: event and auction notifications while our online auction is open and during the event, and payment or pickup reminders in the 24 hours after it. We do not send text messages the rest of the year.

Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging and data charges from your wireless carrier may apply to every message sent or received.

How to opt out or get help

Text STOP to cancel at any time. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and we will send no further texts to that number unless you opt in again.

Text HELP for help. You will receive an automated reply, or you can reach us directly using the details below.

You can also email contact@cowboysagainstcancer.com with your mobile number and ask us to stop; we will remove your number within 7 days.
